The Penn State Alumni AssociationWhat’s been happening: After graduating PSU, I was lucky enough to be able to work at University Park in Residence Life for two and a half years. I went on to receive my Master's degree in Higher Education Administration at the University of Redlands where I was the Johnston Center's Complex Director. While near L.A., I was selected for a pilot TV show called Take Me! and was flown to London, England, for taping. I left California to hike 480 miles of the Appalachian Trail and then became an Outdoor Adventure Leadership instructor at the Leysin American School in Switzerland. I spent the summer of 2005 working with boarding school students in the Alps. For the Spring 2006 semester, I accepted a position to work on the M/V Explorer as a Resident Director for Semester at Sea. I lived on a ship and helped supervise 700 college students as we traveled by sea to the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Brazil, South Africa, Mauritius, India, Myanmar, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China, and Japan. I returned to the U.S. to be the Assistant Director of Residence Life at Simmons College in Boston, MA. In October 2008, I joined a start up company, BuLogics, am the Director of Operations. I also have my own business, Doebler Consulting, which does career coaching and freelance editing. When this goes to print, however, I have no idea what I'll be doing then or where I'll be, but it's sure to be AWESOME. |
